(HDN) -- Reigning Tour de Troit champion John "Hot Dog" D. has rejected the findings of a positive doping test taken while the cyclist was competing in this year's race, blaming it on tainted Hot Dog meat.
"Hot Dog" was provisionally suspended from competitive cycling by the sport's governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), on Thursday following the results of the test.
The Macomb Township rider, a three-time winner of cycling's showpiece event and one time winner of the coveted "Ore 2 Shore Hot Dog Award", had traces of the banned substances lipsum and assholeum in a test sample he gave on July 21 -- which was a rest day (which isn`t uncommon for him). However, in a press conference held in his home town of Macomb Twp, which HDN attended, Johnny D said he was innocent.
