Winter Doldrums

Egats!! Mother nature is cruel. The last few weeks, mother nature had me outside spinning like a top on my bike in preparation for the big day. One weekend, 3" of snow, and temperatures straddling zero degrees have me grounded for now. I'm not feeling as enthusiastic as Gary, who somehow has the gusto to still get out there and get after it. Impressive.

So what does one do?

NOT SO FAST! I do have the trainer set up in the basement. Damn that is boring though! I'm heading back to the gym. I came down with shin splints last week after getting back into running. After a week of rest, I've armed myself with some new kicks, as well as some compression leg sleeves. Why am I sharing all this information with you? I have no idea, I'm motivated, and want to keep pushing. I'm hoping I still have time to be ready for the Corktown 5K a few weeks before BR.

I don't know how much more time I can spend replaying Ride the Divide, catching up on Jersey Shore, reading my favorite bike blogs or stalking other known local cyclists and their winter training regiments on Facebook.

Oh well. Some "sprinter" eh Cooper? Maybe the 40 degree mark will be again before we know it. Anywho, Barry-Roubaix is just like 40 days away. LETS GET IT ON!!
